My husband organised a 4 night trip to the Isle of Skye for my birthday.
After a long wet and windy drive from Glasgow we arrived at Tigh Eachainn. The house is lovely although probably a little big for only the two of us (there are 9 bedrooms). The house was very clean and we chose to sleep in the largest bedroom at the back of the house which had huge windows viewing out to the garden and beyond.
My husband enjoyed building the fire each night and there were plenty of logs left for us to use so most nights were spent cuddled up next to the fire watching telly. SKY TV is provided and there is also a selection of DVDs, however due to the strong winds some of the TV channels didn’t work. As the house has free wifi and we had brought our laptop we downloaded a couple of movies to watch.
Being out of season we couldn’t find any restaurants open so just cooked in the well equipped kitchen each night. There is a co-op store only a short drive away from the... more
