A car is recomended but good national bus and rail services operate from Salisbury.

Salisbury has a mainline Railway Station serving London, the West Country and many other destinations.

There is a regular bus service from Salisbury and Shaftesbury to the village.

The A303 trunk road runs East to West with A30 providing a good route between Wilton and Shaftesbury.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2014 for a stay in May 2014

We really enjoyed our stay at New Barn. Emma and Henry were wonderful hosts and communicated frequently before our stay, and as needed after our stay (to refund the security deposit). The cottage was comfortable and well-suited for our family of five (kids' ages: 6, 4, 19 mo). The top floor has two twin beds where our girls slept (and our baby), but there is no separation from the bottom floor (so they can hear you in the kitchen). But it worked well for us and the master bedroom on the first floor is very comfortable with wonderful windows overlooking the Flint's garden. The Flints graciously invited our kids to use their trampoline and on-grounds space, and had us over for a drink one night. It was lovely to meet them and stay in their cottage. We would definitely recommend this home to other travelers! more
