My partner and I stayed in Mendip View earlier this year and had the most fantastic short break. It is a truly beautiful place and it made us want to relocate to Somerset!
The cottage itself was perfect for just the two of us and provided a cosy retreat from our everyday lives. It was beautifully decorated and designed and although small it had everything that we needed. It is in a good location for visiting local attractions such as Wookey Hole, Cheddar Gorge and Longleat Safari Park. There is also a brilliant Morrisons just down the road which had a lovely butchers section - we indulged in a few somerset sausages! You need a car if you're stopping here but this is normally a given when stopping somewhere in the UK.
I only have one criticism of the cottage and that is that it hasn't got a proper oven and I had to learn how to use a convection microwave oven for the week. This is difficult if you're trying to cook several things at once but we managed. I think it is... more
