The Mount is a magnificent 500 year old Tudor house, reputed to have been built as Lord Guldeford's summer residence. The detached house is full of character with oak beams and lovely stone, tile and oak flooring, some uneven and sloping floors with some wonderful nooks and crannies to discover. The house is well appointed and comfortably furnished in keeping with its period. With the large enclosed garden and lovely views there's no need to leave.

East Guldeford is on the edge of Romney Marsh, Located just 1 mile from the Ancient town of Rye and 3 miles to Camber Sands. There is a wealth of good walks from the property and cycle routes. The house itself was full of character, the older relatives were fascinated with the place! Facilities and amenities were great - everyone enjoyed the games... more

8 of us spent a wonderful relaxing week at the Mount with ages ranging from 8 to 68. The games room was a bonus for the children, plenty of space for everyone and the house was very clean and tidy with thick fluffy towels and super soft bedding. Fantastic farm shop next door, within easy reach of so many things... more
