    Welcome to our self-catering property - 'Number 19' Chiefs Street. This is a comfortable three bedroomed terraced house in a quiet city-centre location within a short walk from the Cathedral, museums, restaurants, shops and Oliver Cromwell's house.

    The property is warm, light and airy, having been completely refurbished by a highly respected local building firm and renovated to modern standards. So whether you are looking for a relaxing holiday in the Fenlands, or somewhere to stay while visiting relatives, or a base for the family during an important business trip, we can provide that location.

    There are three bedrooms; one small single, and large double and a twin room which can be configured with either one or two single beds. There is a shower room upstairs

    The lounge and dining area are light and open with plenty of space and a comfortable relaxed feel. There is a downstairs toilet.

    The kitchen is fully equipped to a high standard with modern appliances and fittings.

    There are fitted carpets throughout.

    The house has good wifi and high speed broadband - 35mb/s - for which there is a small extra charge.

    We also have a large wheelchair ramp that can be fitted to the rear door and provides full access from the car parking area.

    How to get there
    By road: From the south, follow the A10 north from Cambridge. On entering the City of Ely, keep straight on until you reach Brintons Garage on the left. Turn left into Cromwell Road, and turn right into Chiefs Street at the 'T' junction. Number 19 is third house from the junction. From the north, approach Ely from the A10 or the A142.. At the roundabout where these two roads meet, follow the signs to City Centre. Then as above.

    By Rail: Frequent trains to Ely from London (Kings Cross and LIverpool Street) and from Cambridge, Liverpool and Birmingham (via Peterborough). For the Olympics the fastest train from Ely to London Kings Cross is 1 hour 9 mins. Number 19 is a 5 min taxi ride or a 15 min walk (uphill) from the station.

I stayed here for a weekend with my 2 teenage sons and 22 year old daughter . The house offered everything we needed. It is really centrally placed in Ely and we had no problem getting out and about. Coming from France, I rented this gite with my husband and came also with my parents (aged 76). We found the property very confortable : large rooms, well heated, etc. and well equiped (2 toilets, kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine...). Five of us, including my 87-year-old mother, stayed here. It was roomy, clean, well-equipped and very comfortable. Bob and Philippa were helpful and attentive.
