We have just returned from a week in Lillians beautiful apartment. From our first e mail everything was booked etc easily, all aspects of the arrival information was efficiently and helpfully dealt with.

The apartment itself was in a super location, in Guidecca, an area we had only visited fleetingly in the past. The area had all the shops you would need for your stay and several bars and restaurants too. The complex the apartment was in was very nice and peaceful too, we felt very secure and it was lovely to be shopping etc with local people. I was able to practice my Italian. The views from the apartment was lovely even in the torrential rain we had one day. If you were visiting in the summer it would be perfect as you are away from the really busy areas but they are easily accessible by boat. We did have a 24 hour vaporetto strike while we were there but, as promised by Lillian, the boats to the airport and to Giudecca still ran.

The apartment itself was...

This is an elegant and truly beautiful modern apartment, full of light. The entire glass wall that fronts it to the south with an uninterrupted view over the wide lagoon to the distant Lido and the cathedral ceiling with open, hanging bedroom together create a happy and radiant space. It is also comfortable and efficient with a designer style interior. Plentiful information is provided on local facilities, transport etc. The apartment is situated in a quiet corner of the Giudecca which feels local and untouristy and yet San Marco and the centre of Venice is only 5 minutes away over the water.

We spent a very happy week in "Palazzo Picolo" in February 2012. It was so good having spent the day in bustling crowded Venice (we were there during the end of the Carnival) pouring over museums, churches and absorbing sights, famous or more secretive, to return to our retreat, so graceful and calm. It is an unusual find in Venice, where historic hotels/apartments can be dark...

Additional amenities & feature info
The property is 78 square metres so is quite spacious and is very light and airy. The photos were taken late in the day so may appear a little dark. The property is like a little townhouse, with no one above or below. The stairs to the altana roof terrace are quite steep and only suitable for people with good mobility, though they are perfectly safe.
