Garden ,3/4 acre of lawn and orchard great for outdoor games and a play area for the children.

Ashley Bank cottages is made up of two fantastic cottages (Ashley & Beechtree) which can be rented together. It is peacefully located near the head of the Ravenstonedale Valley in two acres of wooded grounds with magnificent view of the Howgill Fells. Ashley Bank is intended for large parties due to its ability to accommodate up to 16 people.

Ashley cottage (sleeps 12):
1 double bedroom ensuite bathroom
2 twin bedrooms with shared bathroom
2 family bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms; 3 single beds in each room.
All the bed linen and hand towels in the bathrooms are provided. We do not provide bath towels.
Gas central heating
Two cots and two high chairs

Stayed here with a group of friends, we had the most fantastic time, very comfortable, warm & lovely views, the owner was very helpful, & provides all necessary equipment for a self catering stay ie plenty of dishes, pots pans ect, we had the most enjoyable weekend, cottage was very clean & that's all they ask leave it as you... more

The accomodation is very good and suited our large family group which included two children under 12 months and a Great Grannie in her nineties. A particular advantage is three double rooms with en-suite facilities. There are however a number of steps to negociate even at "ground" level so it wouldn't suit anyone with serious mobility issues. A very warm welcome to a very cosy and comfortable holiday home. Everything one might need is provided. How to get there
Ashley Bank is located just off the A685, which meets the M6 at junction 38.

We are situated midway between Kendal and Penrith in Cumbria, 140 miles south of Glasgow, and 90 miles north of Manchester.

If you are travelling on the M6, come off the motorway at junction 38 (Tebay) take the A685 to Scotch Corner, Brough and Kirkby Stephen, travel along the road approximately 5 miles you will see the sign Newbiggin on Lune, and an island in the middle of the road, turn left up the hill, signposted Great Asby, over the cattle grid, after 200 meters turn left at the Ashley Bank sign, just past the bungalow on the right.

If coming from Scotch Corner and Kirkby Stephen, travel on the A685, when you see the sign Newbiggin on Lune, do not go into the village pass it on the left, then turn right in...
