Great Burrow Cottage (Sunday Times '50 Coolest Cottages in Britain and Ireland') is a detached former Linhay found in the heart of undulating West Devon countryside, in the grounds of Grade II listed Great Burrow Farmhouse. It has stunning uninterrupted views of Dartmoor. French doors lead to a private patio and tranquil gardens with wildlife ponds, free-range chickens and ducks, a beautiful honey-coloured cob and stone barn, ancient oak trees and sweeping views of Dartmoor's wild northern tors. A heat exchange system provides constant hot water with underfloor heating that keeps the cottage really cosy and a woodburner too for that added snug feel. Additional amenities & feature info
Great Burrow Cottage was listed in the Sunday Times '50 Coolest Cottages in Britain and Ireland' Jan'09 and has since had great press from most of the broad sheets. See our web site for more Press.

    It comfortably sleeps 6.

The hot water and heating is from a very efficient geo-thermal ground loop heat exchange system, keeping the cottage at a constant temperature no matter what the weather. We also have a woodburner to make things extra enticing in the autumn and winter.

Beautifully converted with oak and slate floors, it has a master double bedroom and a loft bedroom with 3 single beds, one of which converts to a double bed.

We have just spent a week at Great Burrow Cottage and what a wonderful week. The cottage is beautiful - both inside and out. It is well equipped, has really comfortable beds, and very peaceful - if you don't mind ducks, chickens and friendly cats. We stayed with our teenage sons and a borrowed dog and we all loved it.... more

We stayed at Great Burrow Cottage at the beginning of August with our young son. The weather was good, and the setting really is as gorgeous as it looks in the photos. The cottage lies at the end of a very long country lane, so you really do feel like you're away from the hustle and bustle of normal life!... more

We had a wonderful stay at great burrow, if you want to get away from it all and experience real peace and tranquility this is for you. Set in beautiful grounds with loads of space to explore and run around in, perfect for young children. Every morning you see the ducks in procession toward the pond at the bottom of... more
