You never know what a place will be like until you see it in person. This place was even better than I expected. It really is right on the beach. The beach is a protected bay with a reef breaking the waves. There is a cenote [underground cave] that empties into the bay right in front of a restaurant that is a 3 minute walk away on the beach. The water in the bay, and in the local cenotes, is warm and clean... the cenotes are cooler, but still swimable.
