Without a doubt, it’s one of the best and safest places to go out at night time in all over Mexico. The environment in bars, restaurants and clubs is created by the kind people that assist the tourists.
To start your night we recommend first to go out to dinner in any of the restaurants on the 5th Avenue, walk a little bit on this street and then go to 12th Street where the popular clubs are. Never than less, if you prefer a quieter environment it’s better to walk to 34th Street so you can pick a bar you like.
SHOPPING
The dream of every woman is shopping and in Playa del Carmen you can make that dream come true. Here you can find the finest jewels, you can buy anything from an exclusive piece of silver to exclusive diamonds.
Bathing suits and beach accessories are some of the most popular items. We recommend not buying souvenirs made of starfish or pink snail due to the fact that this are endangered species. This is a paradise to buy perfumes at Duty free stores.
TULUM
Tulum is especially preferred by European tourists. Its majestic archeological ruins at the Caribbean Sea offer a spectacular view. It also has a shore with small exclusive hotels, ideal if what you are looking for is relaxing vacation.
CHICHEN ITZA
Its one of the most visited archeological places in the country. Its architecture was designed in a way in which the equinox and solstice of each year from the image of Kukulcan, the snake with feathers coming down the temple, in an optical illusion of light and shadows.
ISLA MUJERES
Isla Mujeres is a sacred place where one can go to pay tribute to the Goddess Ixchel from the Mayan culture. It´s small, only 7.5 of length and 500 meters wide. Even with this fact, it has 5 stars hotels, beach clubs and tours to know the place on a boat.
COZUMEL
Being surrounded by coral reefs, the biggest island of Mexico is the best place to scuba dive. To arrive there, you only have to take the ferry that leaves from Playa del Carmen. Once there we recommend that you rent a car to visit the city as you wish to do it.
ISLA HOLBOX
Holbox is special; it possesses a charm of looking like a newly founded Paradise. The list of activities that you can do are swimming with whale sharks, golf cart rental to get to know the island and of course, don’t forget to try the lobster pizza.
SIAN KA’AN
South from the Riviera Maya, tourists can enter the Protected Area of Sian Ka´an, ¨called the place where the sky begins¨. There are 530 mil hectares most of them tropical jungle, lakes, swamps, bays and reefs. This place is the natural habitat of species like jaguars, pumas, crocodile, white-tail deer, spider monkeys and birds. Every day you can find an excursion.
PUERTO AVENTURAS
If sport fishing is your thing, Puerto Aventuras is the place you have been dreaming of. It has a very luxurious marina, with international food restaurants, hotel and yacht charter. It also has a golf course, condos and an area of cenotes. Puerto Aventuras is located 20 min south of Playa del Carmen.
CANCUN
Cancun remains one of the most popular destinations of Mexico, with an international touristic development standard. In Mayan language, “Cancun” means snake nest. This project was created in 1974 as a vacation destination. Its hotel zone is known all over the world, as well as its beaches. This touristic city was developed on a narrow sand, on one side it has the Caribbean Sea and on the other one the Nichupte lagoon.
All over the Yucatan peninsula exist hundreds of cenotes. Cenotes (Mayan name for hole with water) are convenient to practice Spelunking and scuba diving.
In its transparent waters you can swim. The most recommended swimming cenotes are Dos Ojos, the Gran Cenote, Taj Makajl and the Poderosa. Never the less there are a lot to chose from, know and discover.
Inside the cenotes you can explore caves and galleries. Their water is very cold, almost frozen, but once you acclimate, it becomes delightful to refresh yourself from the intense heat.
