Situated in West Cumbria just outside of Egremont, Briscoe Mill Cottage is a 2 bedroom self catering cottage next to the River Ehen. Recently renovated, the cottage dates from around 1783 and has been lovingly restored by us to provide you with a comfortable, peaceful and relaxing holiday.

It forms part of the old mill house and sleeps 4 people with one king size bedroom and one twin/bunk bedroom.

2 well behaved pets are allowed at a small extra cost. We are very pleased to have recently been accreditated by 'Quality in Cumbria'.Short Breaks:

We do accept short breaks and they typically run from Mon -Fri and Fri - Mon and these are charged at 70% of the weekly rate.

Change Over Day: Arrival Saturday from 3pm & departure Saturday for around 10.30am. Alterative checking in & out times may be arranged prior.

Lovely well appointed cottage. Good location for visiting the less touristy Western Lakes. Thank you for the welcome pack, much appreciated after a long drive. Enjoyed feeding the cows and cooking apple and blackberry pie - produce from the garden :) Note to dog owners, the garden isn't enclosed. more

We chose this property as it gave us easy access to the far western Wainwright fells and peaks. It is conveniently placed approximately 10 minutes drive away from Ennerdale Water and half an hour from Crummock Water and Buttermere, and I would highly recommend it to any Wainwright Peak baggers or walkers. Our stay at this beautiful cottage was fantastic, Sean & Sarah were the perfect hosts. On arrival there was a welcome basket of goodies which was very useful, they gave us lots of tips on where to visit, including a hair raising trip Sean recommended over the Rhinos the views were amazing!!! From the South:
Leave the M6 motorway at Junction 36. Left onto the A591. After a few miles turn left onto the A590. Follow this road for approximately 18 miles, then at Greenodd turn right onto the A5092. Continue onto the A595 following signs to Whitehaven. After approximately 30 miles, you will come to Egremont. Do not take the first roundabout, instead go to the 2nd roundabout and take the 3rd exit up East Road ( near the Esso Garage). Follow East Road until the road bears to the right and follow signs to Ennerdale. Go down the hill, over the bridge and the cottage is just on the left.

From the North:
