Le Cordonnier is a traditional village house with a rooftop terrace located in the hilltop village of Sablet. It is centuries old, built of stone with two foot thick walls for keeping the house cool in summer and topped with a traditional Provençal tiled roof.

When they started renovating this property, they found old bits of leather and shoes in the stone walls along with some rolled up bank notes, evidence that years ago it had been the home of a thrifty shoemaker.

The house is furnished in a traditional and comfortable style, with a Provençal feel and decorating. The owners live adjacent to the property, and are always wil...

We stayed for a week at Le Cordonnier and wished it could have been longer. Our hosts, Sarah and Geoff, made us feel most welcome.
