We stayed during November which you wouldn’t normally think is the best time to go to the countryside, but as a Londoner, I love getting away all year round. The location of Westley Farm is stunning – rolling hills down to the valley, with views of the village over the other side, dotted with smoking chimneys. It’s quite a way from the main road so you literally hear no traffic. We stayed in Hornstone Cottage, the largest one I think, which has incredible views out to the valley below. It was very clean, comfortable and warm on arrival. Lovely décor - not chintzy in anyway! Hege gave us a pint of fresh milk and a freshly baked cake so we could put the kettle on immediately. The fireplace was stocked with wood and there is a very informative pack to browse through for local tips and recommendations. The bedrooms were all very warm and comfortable.
