The property is in a small village and is very peaceful. It is ideal for 2. The owner is next door and keen to provide anything you need. The standard of the accomodation is outstanding with everything seeming brand new and very tasteful. There is a nice welcome with a bottle of wine, tea, biscuits and milk. You don't need to take anything such as teatowels, towels, washing and cleaning materials. I did not try the washing machine and dryer. The local pub, The Brewery Inn, has good food and is very reasonable. Not Monday and Sunday though. It could do with a hairdryer for people like me who forget theirs. The weather was so warm I did not need one this time. The sloping ceilings upstairs are quite a restriction on the rooms so care is needed. The kitchen is large. Loved this property. Booked boats to Ramsey Island and an evening trip around Skomer. These were exquisite for nature lovers. Also Stackpole estate walks around the lily ponds is wonderful. This cottage is perfect for 2 people, it is in a quiet village just outside Pembroke Dock, and is wonderfully located for ease of access to all the local attractions here. There is a very friendly village pub, the Brewery Inn, which serves top class food at reasonable prices. Pembroke Dock has plenty of supermarkets for your supplies.
There is plenty to do in this area: Pembroke Dock was a former Royal Naval Dockyard, and there are forts dotted all around the coastline. Sunderland flying boats were based there during the war, and there is a museum dedicated to them. The walking in this area of South West Wales is extensive, particularly in the nearby national park, and trips can be taken by boat to the local islands to observe the wildlife.
On arriving at the cottage we found a welcome basket containing milk, bread, butter, tea, coffee etc, which was a very kind thought and meant we could have a hot cup of tea after our long journey.
It is well equipped, beautifully...
