We spent a week at the Vaqueria. After a stressful time, the Vaqueria offered a lovely oasis of calm. The complex is well designed so each cottage has a private verandah, a sunbathing area and pool to cool off in. The cottages and public areas are beautifully decorated with a real eye for detail and add to a sense of being cosseted. Fruit trees dot the estate - we ate the figs for lunch - and the farm has chickens and donkeys, which added to the charm of the place.
Soledad, her family and colleagues were extremely helpful with lots of useful advice and were happy to take the time to show us around the area and local town. We really couldn't have asked for more from them.
Anyone wanting to recharge the batteries, staring across olive groves at mountains in a serene environment could not wish for more. more
