As were were in transit we only stayed three nights. We were in the upstairs apartment with a glorious view of the Monferatto hills. The apartment was clean, very comfortable and spacious with a narrow balcony furnished with table and chairs to enjoy the view. Cristina was a very friendly and helpful host and although she does not live on site she is contactable by mobile phone. We also had some friendly chats with the resident neighbours (as we speak Italian).
On our first night we dined at the Castello restaurant a couple of minutes walk away, with a Brazilian couple who were staying in the apartment below us. It was a set menu (only four of were there being a Thursday night) of delicious filling food at a reasonable price.
There is a supermarket in Brusasco, a few minutes drive so we enjoyed cooking in our apartment the remainder of our stay.
There is not a lot to do or see in the immediate area once we toured the castle grounds, but the cities of Torino, Casale...
