The Church of Santa Maria delsTurers is located at Calle Rectoría de Porqueres, 0. The church was built in 1017 as a Romanesque church by the Abbot of the Monastery of Sant Esteve. At the end of the 13th century the bishop had the church demolished because it had become too small for the town, since the population had increased. The new church was built and finished in 1333. The ground plan of the church is basilical. There is a central nave that is 11 meters wide and there is a heptagonal apse between strong bulwarks. In the 17th and 19th centuries, the lateral naves were added. The main doorway at the plaza has a Neoclassic design with a large vestibule with a polygonal shape. There is a doorway of the old church that has ojival arches and a tympanum. This is decorated with vegetal motifs and there are images of animals too.
