Golf
The 2006 U. S. Women's Open Golf Championship will be played, June 29 - July 2, at The Newport Country Club. Practice rounds will be held earlier in the week, Monday, June 26 - Wednesday, June 28, and these are the only days when spectators are allowed to take pictures. Individual tickets can be purchased online, at the Newport Visitors Center, at participating Stop & Shop supermarkets, by calling 877-325-GOLF or at the U.S. Women's Open Shop at 71 Long Wharf in Newport.

Sovereign Bank Family Skating Center located at 4 Commercial Wharf, America’s Cup Blvd.
Come for fun, skate rentals and lessons and find also food and beverages, and a warming room.
- Open 7 days a week, from late November through March, weather permitting.
- Hours: 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
- Night skating for adults only, Friday and Saturday, from 9:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.
