The city of Corpus Christi has a large mix of neighborhoods ranging from historical to modern.  The city's downtown neighborhood has a combination of older Spanish-style and Victorian buildings and modern glass and steel structures.  The downtown is home to many restaurants and shops and a large entertainment district.  Many tourists are commonly found downtown as well, as it is just minutes away from several beaches.

Neighboring Corpus Christi proper is Padre Island, the longest barrier island in the nation, and Mustang Island.  Both islands are popular tourist destinations, the latter supposedly getting its name from the Spanish when they brought wild horses or "Mestenos" there.

Corpus Christi's residential neighborhoods also range from historical to modern.  Homes of many styles can be found in the city.
