Natchez has plenty of outdoor recreational and sporting opportunities to take advantage of.  The Natchez State Park offers camping, cabins, and a lake full of fish.  In fact, the Mississippi state record large-mouth bass was caught in this very lake.  But the state park is not the only place to fish in Natchez.  The area is dotted with lakes full of crappie, bream, gar, and small-mouth, striped, and large-mouth bass.

Kayaking and canoeing are becoming more and more popular across the country, and Natchez is no exception.  Find out more at Kayakmississippi.com.

The Natchez Trace Parkway offers lots of opportunities to get outdoors,  and has become a major attraction for bicycling and motorcycling groups.

There are three golf courses in the Natchez area:

  • Duncan Park Golf Club
  • Beau Pre Golf Course (semi-private)
  • Panola Woods Country Club, Ferriday, LA (approx. 12 miles from Natchez)

Abundant wildlife throughout the Homochitto National Forest and other areas surrounding Natchez attracts hunters from all over the U.S.  Deer and turkey hunting dominate, though there's also plenty of duck, squirrel, and rabbit hunting in the area as well.
