Located at the corner of Napoleon Ave. and Magazine St., this is the bar for those who take their drinking seriously. Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the Club Miss Mae's has not locked its doors since Hurricane Katrina (yes, it was open during Hurricane Gustav). Though not normally a tourist destination, Miss Mae's is an indispensible stop for someone who really wants to see a more real, visceral, side of New Orleans. It's a hangout for bartenders, shot girls, NOPD officers (its actually right across from the police station), students, and more generally anyone who wants their drinks strong and cheap. $10-$20 of well drinks here will put all but the most seasoned alcoholic under the table.
