One of the first restaurants to reopen in the Quarter after Katrina, the reopening of this restaurant symbolized to many the rebirth of New Orleans. 

This historic coffee shop has been serving up tasty beignets (fried donut holes) and cafe au lait (chicory laced coffee with milk) since 1862.  Many people make sure they plan a trip here at least once during their stay in the New Orleans area.
