The Maritime Museum of San Diego is home to the world's oldest sailing vessel that still sails - "The Star of India". This beautiful square rigger can be visited on the waterfront in downtown San Diego.   The museum has several other ships as well.  The topsail schooner "Californian "  is at this museum,  and goes  out on regular public afternoon sails.   The "Suprise" is also here which is the frigate used in the movie "Master and Commander".  This ship sails from time to time as well.   Another unique boat is the steam yacht  "Medea", which is also kept seaworthy.   To top it off they have a cold war era Soviet submarine on display.  The interesting thing about this sub is that during the cold war, it tracked and shadowed the "Midway", which is now bearthed right down the street!
