Legoland is a theme park near San Diego that's theme is completely LEGO.
Here are some of the Things at Legoland:
Ride Roller Coasters
There are a few roller coasters in Legoland. One of them is their trademark, the dragon coaster, which goes through many tunnels and has a lot of lateral Gs but no loops. The other is a dinosaur coaster mostly for little kids, which is like the dragon coaster except it isn't as exhilirating and is completely out in the open air. But there are a lot more rides than just rollercoasters!
Work the Rides You Ride
Except for the rollercoasters, all of the rides have one thing in common. From the free falls that you pull up yourself to the jet ski ride where you control how far out your jet ski goes by turning the steering wheel to the helicopters you control, you actually work while you ride.It is that that makes Legoland different from other amusement parks, what makes it so fun to ride every ride more than twice because you choose what happens. Some favorite rides:
The firefighter ride, where you pump your fire engine to the fire, get over to the water hose, pump out the water at the flaming window near you, get back in the truck, and pump back to the start to win the race against the other people on the ride.
The Jet Ski ride, where you get into a jet ski that is along with a bunch of other skis attached to a center pole so that during the ride it swings around in a circle, is pretty cool. You are going around in a circle pretty quickly and you steer how far out you want to go, but watch out- if you go out far enough, you could get hit by one of the jets that someone on the sidewalk just triggered to soak you!
Do Fun Activities
Other than rides, there are a lot of other things to do in Legoland. You could go on a sightseeing tour through the miniature Lego models of cities and monuments, like the Statue of Liberty or Freedom Tower. You could go to the Lego racing zone, get some wheels, make a Lego car, and race against other cars down a ramp. You could watch the 3-D Lego Racers Movie (it’s really cool).
Or, if you’re 10 or older, you could do Lego Mindstorms Robot Missions. You either pick sports or Mission Mars. In Lego Mindstorms, you take a robot and attach already made upgrades to it to do special jobs. Then you program the robot to complete your mission, and then watch it do your commands. In Mission Mars, you are trying to pick up ore with one of 3 attachments, rescue these lost Lego minifigs, and launch them into space. In the sports mission, you are trying to get as many balls into a pit as possible, and have a tournament to see who has the most athletic robot.
Cool down on hot days at the Pirate-themed water area! Kids (and adults with a real sense of fun!) can splash around on the pirate ship (and little ones can splash in the smaller nearby "tidepools"). Bring a change of clothes and a towel and beat the heat of the afternoon here!
