The Dells have a calendar that is jam packed with activities and events, and there never seems to be a shortage of reason to visit the area.
The January Flake Out Festival is the annual winter carnival with ice carvings, turkey bowling and other activities. With the lakes frozen over and the area transformed to a winter wonderland it is a good time to bundle up and just flake out!
The spring is the time for the annual Automotion, which is held at the Noah’s Ark Waterpark, where each May visitors can come to see nearly 1000 unique cars from classic hotrods and muscle cars modern concept vehicles and plenty of old time vintage autos. Of course this being the Dells, you’re bound to see a Duck or two!
Head to Wisconsin Dells in late June for the annual Native American Artifact and Antique Show, where you can see period firearms, swords, knives, pre-Colombian antiques and native crafts including beadwork, baskets, pottery and textiles. The event is held at the Sauk County Fairgrounds in nearby Baraboo. Contact John Welsch for more details at 920-923-3482.
The activities aren’t limited to the water in the Dells either. Each July the sights turn to the skies for the Wisconsin Dells Airshow, which brings vintage bi-planes, a variety of classic World War II airplanes and an airshow with skydiving and aerobatic flying.
