Norfolk has plenty sports and activities to keep all of its visitors thoroughly entertained.

Being a rather small city, Norfolk doesn’t have any professional sports teams.  It does however have a pair of semi-pro teams.  The Norfolk Tides are the Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets baseball team.  The Tides play in a local stadium, and the season lasts from April until early September.  The Norfolk Admirals are the city’s AHL (American Hockey League) hockey team.  They play in a local arena, and the season lasts from October through April.

There are two public golf courses in Norfolk.   Both Lake Wright Golf Course and Ocean View Municipal Golf Course are 18 hole courses that are open year round.

Norfolk has many cultural attractions including a handful of museums.  For more information, visit Culture in Norfolk.

The Norfolk Scope is a uniquely built stadium that hosts many events, including sporting matches, circuses, music shows and the theater.  It is worth checking out the venues schedule while in the city.

The  Norfolk Botanical Gardens  is a great place to spend a lazy afternoon.   With different plants blooming during different times of the year, it is worth checking out the website before visiting.
