A splendid day of antiquing can be found north of Charlottesville along Route 29 (North).
Heading north from the 250 Bypass in Charlottesville on Route 29, you will come to Ruckersville. This is the home of Green's antiques. Green's has lovely porcelain, silver, and furniture at reasonable prices. They specialize in quality pieces and have a very friendly and helpful staff.
A little farther north on Route 29 (on the left), you will see Prince Michel Winery. This is a beautiful place to stop and enjoy a wine tasting (also very clean restrooms). The shop has many gift items for the food and wine lover.
Just south of Culpepper is the Culpepper Country Shoppes, a delightful place chocked full of antiques and estate jewelry, as well as very friendly people to help you. If you choose to end your drive in Culpepper, you will find a very pleasant and charming town full of interesting shops (Reigning Cats and Dogs is one). Culpepper has several choices for lunch, far superior to those in Ruckersville.
