The path starts behind the Equinox Resort, up by a parking lot and behind a hockey and football fields that belong to the Burr and Burton Seminary.  Drive past the Equinox Resort, and then take Seminary Street;  it is not difficult to find.  There are parking spaces on the street.  The trail has brand new marks to guide you, and the path to the summit is only one of the trails available.  Once you get to the foot of the mountain itself, it becomes very steep and remains so.....till the summit.  It is a challenging hike, up about 2500 feet or more. Up and close to the end, it becomes less obvious which is the path, but it is not difficult to find.   Once you get up there, you meet the people who drove the Skyline Drive and are surprised that anybody would walk if you can drive (!!).  The views are spectacular, and there is an overlook point a few hundred feet from the summit itself.   As for the trail, it is beautiful.  The trees change as you go up and the birches below change to conifers up at the summit.   In some areas the foliage is so dense it becomes very dark.  Make sure you are not going hiking for the first time (this is not for you, unless you want to remember it for the rest of your life, not only for the challenge, but you will be so sore that the rest of your vacation in Manchester will probably be spoiled), and make sure it is sunny.
