Irving and its surrounding area is home to several performing arts venues, especially theatres.  Theatre lovers will find that they have plenty to choose from if they are looking for a night out on the town in Irving.  One of Irving's theatre complexes, The Irving Arts Center, is known throughout Texas for its innovative contemporary theatre productions.  The theatre also produces classic plays.  The arts center is located on ten acres and has a sculpture garden, galleries, classrooms, and two theatres.  See their website for ticket information and directions.

Another of the Irving area's theatres is the Casa Mañana Theatre, located in nearby Fort Worth.  This theatre was the nation's first permanent theatre in the round, which in addition to producing its own plays, hosts touring shows and musicals.  Casa Mañana also holds theatre classes and stages children's productions.  See their website for more information.

The Majestic Theatre, located in Dallas, is another of the area's fine theaters.  The Majestic, built in 1921, has been recently restored and is home to its own productions as well as touring ballets, comedy shows, and musical events.
