One of the best ways to spend time with friends or family around the holidays is to go look at Christmas lights.

There are multiple neighborhoods that participate in extravagant light shows, which are free, but Nashville has two fantastic drive-through light attractions. Of course, the most famous in Nashville is the Gaylord Opryland Hotel, which has a beautiful light display including the hotel lit up with millions of lights, and a nice nativity scene. Gaylord also provides the option to take a carriage ride to look at the lights.

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park hosts Shadrack's Christmas Wonderland, a holiday lights show that broadcasts through a radio station (so you can keep your windows up and stay warm). The lights are synced with the music and cues. Pay by the carload, and it's a huge hit with the kids!

For a large group, Grayline offers a tour of the Shadrack light show along with time at the Gaylord resort; that will save you the $20+ parking fee at Gaylord. They also have a tour that goes through the incredibly decorated neighborhoods in and around Nashville; that tour ends at the Lotz house in Franklin, where you'll have hot chocolate and cookies after you tour this historic home.

For something a little different, try the Big Love Bus or FADDS Party Bus. They have packages just for light tours (money saver). Rent a bus/trolley for a block of time and they will take the occupants ANYWHERE (within reason) as requested. Also, it can be a kid-friendly thing, or a party with alcohol allowed!

For the best holiday light tours, take a limo. Allstars Limousine offers 2 to 26 passenger service. The limos have a fireplace on DVD, eggnog, and cookies...plus you get to see all the lights Nashville has to offer.

These are the most essential places or tours to take to enjoy the holidays!!!
