The Dock Street Theatre - 135 Church Street, Charleston (no performances until 2010). Said to be the single most-photographed spot in the city. Is the first building in America designed solely for theatrical performances. Destroyed by fire in 1740, it was renovated in 1809, again in the 1930's, and is currently under renovation.
The Charleston Ballet Company performs everything from classical to contemporary dance at locations around the city.
The Charleston Symphony Orchestra season runs from October through April.
The end of May and beginning of June each year is a very exciting time in Charleston as that is the annual Spoleto USA Festival . Artists and performers as well as visitors from all over the world attend this wonderful event each year.
