Westerly is a beach town that attracts hordes of people during the summer months. On weekends, it can be even busier. Although a beach town, it’s hardly hot in these parts, but the town does enjoy warm summers, and cold winters.

In the summertime, when most visitors head this way, high temperatures generally sit in the high 70s and low to mid 80s. You can certainly enjoy a day at the beach here, and not get too overheated. If you head out for the evening, bring a sweater. Lows will be somewhere in the high 50s to low 60s, but if an ocean breeze kicks up, it could get a bit colder.

It rains on average every month of the year in Westerly, so there’s a chance your beach getaway could get rained on. July is the driest month of the year in Westerly and even it receives an average of 3 inches of rain a year.

The wettest months of the year here are (not surprisingly) November, December and January. These months get between 4 and 5 inches of rain each. These are also (not surprisingly) among the coldest months of the year. If you visit in January, be prepared for average daily highs of 38 and lows in the teens.

Springtime is lovely in Westerly. Average highs in April and May are 56 and 66, respectively.
