If you plan on taking a train in, or you are flying into a nearby airport, you can usually rent a car at the destination you arrive in. Generally, the closest places that you would be flying into or arriving via train would be Harrisburg or Philadelphia, which are just a short distance from Lancaster. Harrisburg International Airport offers several options for car rental, including, but not limited to Avis Rent-A-Car and Hertz Car Rental. If you want to get around the city via taxi, that is an option, although it is not completely necessary. The Red Rose Transit Authority is an extremely competent and well organized company. With safe drivers and conveniently located stops, the bus system runs smoothly and efficiently.
