OREGON BREWERS FESTIVAL Oregon Craft Beer month (July) culminates with the annual OBF. Always held the last full weekend in July (Thursday-Sunday), the Oregon Brewers Festival is a showcase for craft brewers from across the nation. Seventy-three craft beers from fourteen different states to the 2008 festival. The 22nd Annual Festival will be held July 23-26, 2009, at Tom McCall Waterfront Park in downtown Portland, Oregon. The Festival provides a lively venue to sample local food, hear local musicians and taste a four ounce sample of a beer for $1 or a fourteen ounce mug for $4. Admission is free (purchase of a mug is necessary to drink), and minors are welcome when accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Access to Tom McCall Waterfront Park by Portland's comprehensive (and in the downtown 'Fareless Square' zone, free) public transportation system is easy. A light rail system (MAX) connects the airport to the city and there are numerous hotels in the downtown district; the 'Oak/SW 1st Ave.' MAX stop is nearest to the OBF main entry gates.
