The Pearl District is Portland’s well- known Art district and offers many shops, galleries and restaurants from which to choose.

This upscale, eclectic neighborhood is one on Portland’s  hottest shopping areas.

It also offers many choices in dining out.
Restaurants include Bluehour, Park Kitchen, Silk  ( originally called Pho Van Bistro ) and newest additions to the restaurant scene include Fenouil and Olea and Carlyle

It is amazing to imagine that just less than 10 years ago, the Pearl was a warehouse district, full of  empty buildings, a beer brewery and an  industrial area. Over the past few years, the entire area has undergone a huge redevelopement, with more buildings, higher rents and more people coming in.

The same developers plan to do much the same to the area around the Waterfront from Terminal Park to McCormick Pier. Loft apartments and stores will be going up in that area also.

Some of the cities best Home Stores, Lighting stores and Antique stores are side by side in the Pearl. All the better to help furnish the many condos in the neighborhood.

The Pearl District is streetcar accessible. The Streetcar runs a 4.8 loop from  Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital to NW 23rd on Lovejoy and Northrup through the Pearl and on 10th and 11th to Riverplace.
