Lincoln City is well known for it's broad flat beach. Enjoy long walks or just relax on the sand! You might also be interested in attending one of the free Clamming or Crabbing clincs held all summer long at Siletz Bay. There is also a fun annual Sandcastle Contest in August.
If you like kites, the summer breezes make for perfect kite flying conditions! There are two annual kite festivals in town. The big Summer Kite Festival is usually near the end of June and experts come from all around to participate in the fun. The Fall Kite Festival is held the first week of October.
Surfing is a popular ocean activity in Lincoln City, and you don't have to worry about bringing your own board! Even if you've never surfed before, you can take lessons from one of the surf shops in town. Safari Town Surf and the Oregon Surf Shop both offer lessons and surf gear.
Try something different and enjoy a horseback ride on the beach or mountain trails of the Oregon Coast! Green Acres Beach & Trail Rides is located less than a mile off the 101 behind the Tanger Outlet Mall. The facility with 40 stalls and a large indoor arena also hosts "rainy day" activities such as pony birthday parties, riding lessons and several horse shows.
During the spring and fall seasons, people come to the Oregon coast to watch the migration of the Pacific Gray Whale, although whales can be spotted locally year round! In town, some prime locations for spotting whales include: at Roads End, the NW 21st Street beach access and SW 40th Street. Charter boat companies in Depoe Bay conduct regular whale-watching tours, when weather permits.

Not all activities in Lincoln City take place outside. When the rain is sheeting down and the wind is howling, there are numerous "indoor" activities available!
A very popular place is the Chinook Winds Casino. In addtion to the usual gambling opportunities, Chinook Winds hosts many fun and exciting community events and concerts throughout the year.
A really fun thing to do in Lincoln City Oregon is make a fused glass plate at Glass Confusion. Glass Confusion is a working glass studio with great glass gifts and a place to come in and play hands on in glass for a couple of hours. For a reasonable price you can learn how to layer different kinds of glass together to make a 6 inch plate. You have to reserve a time and date by phone. Not to be forgotten, Lincoln City is also home to the North Lincoln County Historical Museum . It's easy to fins as it's located right on Highway 101. Recently expanded and remodeled, it houses artifacts and exhibits of local history. The permanent exhibitions include displays about early local settlers, Japanese glass fishing floats and Pixieland.
