Lake Erie determines a lot of what the weather and temperature will be in Sandusky.
Winter in Sandusky is harsh. Located on the edge of the Snowbelt, snowfall is frequent. Usually 2-4 snowdays (no school) per year. Because of the lake though, the temps stay a little warmer when everyplace else is getting colder.
Spring is wet, like anywhere else. A springtime snowstorm is not unheard of. Again, the lake determines a lot. Weather doesn't warm up like it does inland because the lake water is still cold. Stays about 5-10 degrees cooler than 10 miles inland.
Summers are hot and humid. Thunderstorms move in quick off the lake. The area has seen it's fair share of tornados and waterspouts over the years.
Fall is beautiful. The area stays a little warmer than everyplace else because of the lake still being warm. Rain is common, but it's not unusual to have to wear your snowsuit under your Halloween Costume.
