Thame is a classic market town that is the backdrop for filming of the Midsomer Murders TV series. Visitors can enjoy the architectural history of the town including The Bird Cage see website , which was built in the 15th century and used to house prisoners waiting trail, it now serves locally produced food and drink.  St Mary’s is a 13th century built church that is open to the public most days, Thame museum see website, is situated in the town and exhibits art, design and information on the history of Thame.  Waterperry gardens are also worth visiting, Thame has a music festival in May and a food festival in September. The Thame carnival is held in June with the Thame County show in July. The Oxford Belfry, has a golf course and excellent accommodation with Raymond Blanc’s Le Manoir just up the road, ideal for a gastronomic treat.
