The annual 'Soul Food Celebration' at the Columbia Theater Cultural Recourses Center is one of a kind. If you are lover of good soul music and like true southern soul food , this is the event not to be missed. Everyone is invited and is welcome to bring a favorite home cooked dish. The Columbia Theater Cultural Resources Center presents every year in November the "Soul Food Celebration", usually on a Friday from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM. All Tyrrell County churches are invited to have their best cooks participate in an old-fashioned dinner on the ground. This program celebrates the tradition of dinner on the ground and brings together the community of faith in Tyrrell County. They are requesting that churches bring two or three favorite dishes to this event. The public is invited to sample a variety of treats from these churches and to feed their souls while nourishing their bodies. Admission is free. The Columbia Theater Cultural Resources Center is a Partnership for the Sounds facility and is located on Main Street in Historic Downtown Columbia. The 2006 celebration was a fun and wonderful event.
