The city of Kalispell, Montana has a temperate climate, which means that it experiences four distinct season changes.  Although it can be visited throughout the year, there are certain months that are much more ideal for doing outdoor activities than others.

On average, the hottest months of the year are July and August, during which time the daily high temperatures will generally hover in the mid to upper 80’s.  During extremely hot days, temperatures might climb into the low 90’s, but this is not the norm.  The nighttime temperatures during these months will generally drop to the mid to upper 40’s.  Even during the summer months, the evening temperatures get rather cold, so make sure to bring along some warm clothes.

The coldest months of the year on average are December and January, during which time the daily high temperatures generally won’t rise above the freezing point (remaining in the upper 20’s).  The nighttime temperatures during these months will generally drop to the mid teens.  Although there are many outdoor activities (such as cross country skiing) available during the winter, most people choose to visit during warmer months.

Throughout the year, Kalispell is never an extremely wet place.  However, the months that receive the most precipitation are May and June.
