Billings is home to three minor league professional sports teams: The Billings Bulls, their NAHL hockey team, the Billings Mustangs, the AAA affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds baseball team, and the Billings Outlaws, the city's NIFL indoor football team.
The Billings Mustangs have been a farm team for the Reds since 1974 and have been in existence since the late 1940's. The Mustang's games are played in Billings' Dehler Park and are very popular with locals. This is in part because the team runs special promotions during each game designating one of the players as the special batter. If that player gets a hit, the concession stands will sell beer for a discount until the end of the inning. The Mustangs also tend to do quite well in their league's standings, having won several championship titles in the past ten years.
The Billings Outlaws indoor football team plays at the MetraPark arena and has been part of the NIFL since 2001. See their website for game and ticket information.
