Although a small town, Tunica packs a punch with its deep cultural heritage and fun traditions. This is a festive city that provides great festivals to tempt you to visit specifically for them. The festivities in Tunica allow guests to get a real flavor of the Southern lifestyle here and better yet, offer up incredible food specialties that they are known for as well. 

Some great times to visit the city include arriving for the Tunica Rivergate Barbecue Festival which is a branch of the world-famous barbecue in Memphis . This festival takes place in May and will provide you with some of the tastiest treats from the south that you could ask for! If you've got the stomach for it, you can even enter in the competition.

Also the Gospel Music Festival will get you into the spirit of Tunica's culture. The music performances are enhanced by more Southern cooking and games; it take place the first weekend of October.

At the end of fall is the Delta Day Festival which is a showcase of arts and crafts from the Delta region. More than just art, there are music concerts, kids games, and of course more incredible food.

Christmas is also a beautiful time to come to Tunica. Starting in November the shops that line the charming streets are decorated and have "Christmas Open Houses". Traditional festivities take place such as carolling, horse-drawn carriage rides, and you can get all the shopping done that you want!
