Minneapolis has a number of professional sports teams.

Minnesota Twins (baseball) – The 1987 and 1991 World Series Champion Minnesota Twins play at Target Field (new baseball park opened in Spring 2010) in downtown Minneapolis.

Minnesota Vikings (football) – The Vikings currently play at TCF Bank Stadium on the campus of the University of Minnesota. A new indoor stadium is being constructed on the site where the Hubert H Humphrey Metrodome used to stand in downtown Minneapolis.

Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx (basketball) – The Timberwolves and Lynx (WNBA) play at Target Center in downtown Minneapolis.

If you’re looking to grab a drink or a quick bite to eat before a game, there are many places to choose from depending on which sports stadium you're at. A great resource is Meet Minneapolis, the local convention and visitor's association, site where a food & wine listing around the city can help you choose wisely.

Looking for professional hockey? All you need to do is drive over to St. Paul where the Minnesota Wild play at the Xcel Energy Center. The Minnesota Swarm (box lacrosse) also play in the Xcel Energy Center.
