Petoskey has been an upscale summer resort since the 1800s and has plenty of history to preserve and showcase in charming little museums.
For starters check out the Little Traverse History Museum Center which educates visitors on the area's past. The museum includes an exhibit on Ernest Hemingway while explaining what role he played in the region.
Art lovers will enjoy the Crooked Tree Arts Center. The Gallery features work for appreciation and for sale among many special exhibits, programs, and other performing art shows.
Petoskey is also home to a Casino: Victories Casino, gambling, live entertainment, and dining is all available here.
The Raven Hill Discover Center is as at its name suggests. The center is a pleaser for all ages and brings you to explore different exhibits, sculptures, art, and much more by touring its park and getting hands on with the displays.
Taking a mini-excursion to Mackinaw Island is also a real treat. Getting there is half the fun; enjoy the ride on one of the following ferry services:

- Shepler's Mackinac Island Ferry boasts the fastest ride at 16 minutes, but also offers other services.
