Whether your interests lie in aerospace, the arts, nature, or history, there's a museum for you in Kalamazoo.

Kalamazoo Institute of Arts -- the permanent collection at this art museum features 20th century American painting and sculpture works. The museum also houses an all-encompassing print collection of European and American origin. Artists featured in the museum are of local, regional, national, and international heritage. The museum also hosts a number of traveling exhibits throughout the year as well. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Admission to the museum is free, some special exhibitions require a fee for admission. The museum is located at 314 South Park Street.

The Kalamazoo Valley Museum -- this museum features exhibits focusing on nature, science, and technology. Collections include natural history items from the region, along with local ethnographic objects and antiquities. The museum is open Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.

The Kalamazoo Nature Center -- located at 7000 N Westnedge Avenue, features at the nature center include a Bughouse, Butterfly house, tropical sun-rain room, and other natural history exhibits. The grounds feature 11 different nature trails to experience nature firsthand.

The Gilmore Car Museum -- named one of the Nation's TOP FIVE car museums and recently listed as the #1 Greatest HIstoric Auto Site in Michigan by Pure Michigan, the Gilmore Car Musuem and Historic Campus includes over 300 vintage, antique, and collector cars and motorcycles from all eras, on display in over a dozen historic buildings throughout a 90-acre Historic Campus, including vintage car dealerships, a replica 1930s Shell Gas Station, authentic 1940s Diner and more. The Gilmore Automotive Heritage Center and connecting buildings are open all year-round. Current special exhibits include "American Legends: Hot Rods & Customs," "The Great Migration," and "Kalamazoo: The Other Motor City," featuring the iconic Checker Taxi Cab. The Museum is open Monday - Friday, 9am to 5pm, Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 6pm.

The Air Zoo -- a huge collection of aircraft, including a Curtiss P-40N Warhawk, F-18, F-14 Tomcat and SR-71 Blackbird spy plane. Take a walk through aviation history, including aircraft from all eras.  The Space Exhibit houses a section of the International Space Station, a space shuttle, replicas of the Mercury space capsules, and much more! The interactive museum also features a 4-D theatre, simulators, murals, and rides. Admission is $10.00 for General Admission, $16.50 for the Ultimate Ace Package which includes all interactive rides and simulators plus admission.  Children 4 and under are free.  Current active military and Veterans will receive a free General Admission.  Core hours are Monday to Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Offering Winter Break Camps, Spring Break and Summer Camps.

 A great place to stop at after a long day at the museums is Bell's Brewery, Kalamazoo's oldest microbrewery. Stop by for a brewski (or two) and experience one of the best beers you will ever taste.
