The Vineyard Playhouse in Vineyard Haven often hosts exciting performances for the Martha’s Vineyard community. There are play festivals, holiday shows and regular productions throughout the year, with an especially lively summer season between mid-June and early September. The theater is located at 24 Church Street in downtown Tisbury and tickets can be obtained by calling the box office at 508-696-6300.

The Martha’s Vineyard Film Society hosts an annual International Film Festival for four days in mid-September. The screenings are held all over the island, though events tend to be centered around Vineyard Haven, especially the Katharine Cornell Theater.

Other fun events that take place outside of Vineyard Haven on the island include a farmer’s market in West Tisbury. This open-air market is held every Saturday between early June and early October, as well as Wednesdays between late June and the end of August. Also check out Antiques at the Grange Hall, also in West Tisbury. Every Friday between July and mid-August, as well as on selected days in September through November, a large number of antique dealers offering vintage wares gather at the Grange Hall on State Road to show off their goods. Also in West Tisbury is an annual Vineyard Artisans Festival in early September, held in the Agricultural Hall.
