The calendar of events in Oak Bluffs is packed from the spring through the late fall, and there are numerous festivals and other events that make this a must-visit tourist destination.
Early June is when the annual Oak Bluffs Harbor festival is held. It is a daylong event with plenty of tasty local dishes to eat, live music to hear from local and region artists, arts and crafts and even a Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest from noon until 5pm!
As the summer heats up it is time for the Portuguese Holy Ghost Feast, which is held in the middle of July. This weekend festival includes a parade, music, dancing and plenty of Portuguese food to sample.
A month later in the middle of August is the All Island Art Show, which features a range of works of art from artists across the island. Admission to the All Island Art Show is free.
The fireworks don’t happen for the Fourth of July, but rather wait until Mid-August as well. This all day festival includes band concerts, plenty of food and a massive fireworks display at Ocean Park after dark.
And as the weather cools down just a bit it is time for the Tivoli Day Festival. This September event is held in the middle of the month and features more live entertainment, even more tasty food and plenty of arts and crafts.
