The Easton area is home to several museums, popular destinations for both locals and visitors alike.  The Historical Society of Talbot County will give you a good introduction to the area.  Their museum includes a permanent exhibit on the history of Talbot, and a second gallery with changing exhibits of local interest.  Spring through Fall, the museum also offers tours of the three historic houses on their property.  See their website for hours, and for information on events during your visit.

Also in the Easton area is the Academy Art Museum.  Featuring local and national art exhibits, the museum also hosts concerts, cultural events and the "Arts Marketplace" craft show where visitors can purchase locally made items from ceramics to bead work.  The museum also has a children's section and hosts events for kids during the summer months.  See their website for more information on events and tickets.

About 9 miles outside of Easton in the town of St. Michaels is another museum which will really allow visitors to get a good sense of the region's history and culture is the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum.  Located among nine different buildings, the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum tells the story of the area through its exhibits of historic boats, shipbuilding demonstrations and an 1897 fully restored historic lighthouse.  Visitors can also try their luck at pulling up crab pots.  The museum is open every day.  See their website for hours, directions and ticket information.
