Boothbay Harbor is full of museums so that its many tourists can enjoy educational and historical elements to the beauty and adventure of the town and area.

Visiting the Antique Railway Village gives history on locomotives and shows them off with pride.  A showcase of old automobiles, a museum, tractor pulls, model and full size trains is all a part of the village. Along these lines, there is also the W.W. & F. Railway Musuem which runs train rides and many special events, check their site for event listings and dates.

Those who have come to Boothbay Harbor because they cannot get enough of the sea, should definitely go on a whale watch tour.  Boothbay Whale Watch runs whale-watching adventures off of Pier 6.  Once you've seen a whale live, head to the Maine State Aquarium for a more laid back tour of marine life in this fantastic public aquarium.

For more nature but on land, visit the beautiful Maine Botanical Gardens.

Being the famous harbor that it is, visiting a lighthouse is definitely in line; you can visit the Burnt Island Lighthouse.
