Des Moines is home to two professional minor league sports teams:  one baseball and one hockey.  Des Moines' baseball team, The Iowa Cubs, is the AAA farm team for the Chicago Cubs, Chicago's National League team.  The Iowa Cubs play in Des Moines at Principal Park, a 12,000-seat venue with a nice view of the city's skyline.  The park, built in the early 1990's, was recently renovated to include a new scoreboard, extra seating, and new lighting.  Tickets to Iowa Cubs games range from $6 to $20.  For more information on the Cubs, game schedules, or to purchase tickets online visit the team's website.

Des Moines' other professional sports team, The  Des Moines Buccaneers, is a minor league hockey team which is a member of the American Hockey League's Eastern Division.  The Buccaneers play at the 95KGGO Arena, once called the Buccaneers Arena, which was named after a local radio station in 2005 after they bought the naming rights.  The Arena holds a little over 3,000 people.  Tickets to Buccaneers games range from $8 to $13 and can be purchases via the team's website or at the door.  More information on the team and game schedules, see their website.
